Each supplier who accepts MasterCard is assigned a Merchant Category Code (MCC) by their merchant bank. The MCC system is used to categorize suppliers by the types of goods or services they provide. PARIS automatically assigns general ledger accounts (G/L accounts) to transactions conducted with suppliers having the following MCCs:
